Oppo Reno 2 and Reno 2F Android 10 Release Date Confirmed Oppo is not the smartphone brand which reveals roadmap for software updates, but this time around, the company has actually revealed the Android 10 update roadmap for its flagship Reno series. The first Oppo smartphone to receive ColorOS 7 update which will be based on Android 10 will be the Oppo Reno 2. Next up, the Reno 2F will get the update sometime in Q1 2020. Oppo did not reveal the release date of Android 10 for Oppo Reno 2Z as the phone was not launched in Indonesia. Oppo announced this news at the company’s Reno 2 series launch event in Indonesia last week. Notably, the same rollout timeline may be applicable to Indian users as well. Oppo launched the Reno 2 series of phones (Reno 2, Reno 2F and the Reno 2Z) in India at the end of August 2019, and the prices start at Rs 25,990. The Oppo Reno 2 is the costliest phone priced at Rs 36,990 and it comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset. The Oppo Reno 2F rocks the MediaTek Helio P70 chipset, whereas the Reno 2Z has the MediaTek Helio P90 chipset. That said, the Oppo Reno 2Z is the only phone in India with Helio P90 SoC. Alongside the Reno 2 series, other phones like the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom and the original Oppo Reno may also receive the update in Q1 2020. Realme Phones to Get ColorOS 7 Update in Q1 2020 Oppo’ sister brand, Realme, also announced Android 10 update roadmap to its smartphones at the Realme XT launch event last month. Firstly, the Realme XT, Realme X, Realme 5 Pro and the Realme 3 Pro smartphones will receive Android 10-based ColorOS 7 update in Q1 2020. In Q2, other phones like the Realme 5, Realme 3, Realme 3i will get the update, followed by Realme 2 Pro smartphone in Q3 2020. That said, Realme did not reveal whether it’s planning to release the Android 10 update to phones like Realme C1, C2, Realme U1, Realme 1 and Realme 2 smartphones. But they may receive the update by the end of 2020 or in early 2021. In other news, Realme is already teasing the Realme OS internally as Project X because the only disadvantage of Realme smartphones right now is ColorOS software. But with contant software updates, Realme is not receiving heavy backlash from the users. AS for the features, we’re not sure what Oppo is planning to add this time around to the ColorOS 7, but some early ColorOS 7 leaked screenshots reveal new app icons, updated animations and a sidebar with several functionalities.
