ITV 2.0 to Start Selling New Connections from September Independent TV is completely getting a makeover as ITV 2.0, confirmed the company’s CEO Vivek Prakash. He also added that the DTH operator has a definite plan which also includes training of ZD and SSD engineers to repair and replace the existing set-top boxes from customer houses. Indian Television reported this news first. The Set-Top Boxes which are currently with the sellers will be repaired by the engineers and they will be used to replace the existing STBs in the customer houses. The company aims to replace the STBs by October 31, 2019. ITV 2.0 will start adding new customers from the month of September 2019. It will be interesting to see how this new strategy pans out for Independent TV, which has lost the trust of consumers over the disconnection issue. The road for Independent TV is extremely tough and the subscriber base for the company is less than one lakh as well. Independent TV Faced Network Signal Disconnection Issues In mid-June, subscribers of Independent TV started reporting one by one that they’re unable to view any television channels. A week later, Independent TV officially confirmed that it’s facing issues with signal service provider Antrix Corporation. And the issues are related to non-clearance of dues by Independent TV. The matter passed to a Court which ordered Antrix Corporation to resume services with immediate effect. The Court also ordered Independent TV to produce a bank guarantee of Rs 12 crore to Antrix Corporation for service resumption. Even Trai intervened the matter and questioned Independent TV on when it’s planning to resume services as customer complaints are increasing with every passing day. Right after Trai’s intervention, Independent TV announced ITV 2.0 and also confirmed the services would resume on August 15. So Independent TV users will have to wait for another few weeks to watch television channels again.
