OnePlus 8 Pro Spotted on Geekbench: What You Need to Know The OnePlus 8 Pro will succeed the OnePlus 7T Pro smartphone with some decent upgrades on board. First and foremost, it features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. In India, the phone may not come in the 5G version, but in other countries, there will be a 5G variant of the smartphone. The OnePlus smartphone spotted on Geekbench bears IN2023 model number. Just a few days ago, tipster Ishan Agarwal, said the OnePlus 8 series already received some necessary certifications in China. The OnePlus 8 series model numbers start from IN2020 and there will be several models. The IN2023 model number could belong to a OnePlus 8 Pro 5G model. According to the tipster, the OnePlus 8’s model numbers would be between IN2000-2010. The phone was spotted running Android 10 and having 12GB of RAM. As everyone expected, it will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. Addition of 12GB RAM will not come as a surprise since we saw several phones in 2019 sporting such mammoth amount of RAM. Smartphones like the Galaxy Note 10+, OnePlus 7 Pro, Galaxy S10+ and so on offered 12GB of RAM even in India. The OnePlus 8 Pro will be a successor to the OnePlus 7T Pro whose McLaren edition priced at Rs 58,999 features 12GB of RAM. OnePlus 8 Pro Could Launch Earlier Than Expected The news of OnePlus 8 Pro visiting a benchmark website this early could result in the phone launching earlier than expected. OnePlus changed its launch timeline last year by bringing the OnePlus 7 series in May 2019 itself, unlike the usual last month of a Q2 launch. A few days ago, we saw the prototype image of possibly OnePlus 8 Lite making rounds on the web. Also, the CAD renders of the OnePlus 8 series comprising of OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite has been leaked on the web as well. If OnePlus goes for an early launch, then the company should be in the mindset of taking on Samsung Galaxy S20 series which will make its official debut on February 11 ahead of Mobile World Congress 2020. The Xiaomi Mi 10 series is also expected to come out during the same February month in China. As for the OnePlus 8 Pro, it is expected to come with a 120Hz screen, quad-camera setup on the back, punch-hole display, bigger battery and at least 50W fast charging. In other news, OnePlus is hosting a special screen technology event in China on January 13 where it will likely unveil the 120Hz AMOLED screen tech to be used on the OnePlus 8 Pro.
