ACT Fibernet, the third-largest wired broadband service provider in India has revamped its plans for its users in Chennai. The internet service provider with over 1.68 million users has been revamping its broadband plans across various cities in the country. As reported by TelecomTalk earlier, the operator had made changes to its plans for its users in Bengaluru and Delhi. While the service provider offered a speed bump as part of its revised plans in Delhi and Bengaluru, ACT under its revised plans has only increased the data limit to its users in Chennai....

Bharti Airtel has expanded its refundable security deposit scheme on its Airtel Xstream Set-Top Box (STB) to users outside of its One Airtel plans. The refundable security deposit scheme enables Airtel users to purchase the Android powered Airtel Xstream STB for Rs 1500. The scheme offered Airtel users to return the Airtel Xstream STB after 12 months of active use and receive the security deposit paid at the time of installation....

This means a price hike of Rs 500. It will make the new price of the annual Prime subscription - Rs 1,499. Not only this, but even the quarterly and the monthly plans will see a price hike. The monthly plan will go from Rs 129 to Rs 179, and the quarterly plan will go from Rs 329 to Rs 459.

Apple has just updated the policy regarding lost and stolen iPhones. All the iPhones, be they old or new, if they are found listed as lost or stolen in the GSMA Device Registry, will not be repaired by Apple. The authorised service providers, as well as Apple Store Employees, will not accept lost or stolen iPhones for repair anymore. An iPhone can be marked as lost or stolen in the MobileGenius or GSX Systems that Apple uses to provide services to customers....

“Intel is now exploring strategic alternatives for its modem chip business, including a possible sale,” the report added.
