The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the Indian non-governmental industry body of telecom operators of India has asked for aid from the Maharashtra Government to evade the network outages in the city of Pune. The issue arises as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued letters/notices to TSPs and cable TV operators demanding payment of charges for the regularization of aerial OFCs within its municipal limits. It is to be noted that telecom service providers have already laid aerial OFCs across Maharashtra, including Pune....

They further added that the technology is not globally harmonised meaning that if DoT mandates it, there will be an increase in pricing and also a delay in the rollout of the services. DD Free Dish Registers Increase in Subscriber Base In 2019, the firm said that the pay TV services registered lower growth as compared to the previous years due to multiple reasons including the English language viewers shifting to Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms. Prabhudas Lilladher said that the “strong content pie” on the OTT platforms enabled the English language viewers to make the shift from pay TV services.
