Google, the search giant is known for its Pixel smartphone lineup across the globe and the company is said to be working on its upcoming next-gen Google Pixel 5a 5G smartphone. In the latest development, it has been reported that the company is planning to launch the smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor. A few days back, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved Bharti Airtel and Google’s deal for $700 million. The actual deal between the companies was for $1 billion, but $300 million out of that was for forming multi-year agreements, and $700 million were for getting a 1.28% stake in the company. On Thursday, Bharti Airtel said that in a meeting held between the ‘Special Committee of Directors for Preferential Allotment’ on July 14, 2022 – Google had been approved to receive 71,176,839 equity shares of face value Rs 5 each fully paid up on a preferential basis at an issue price of Rs 734 per equity share (including Rs 729 premium amount)....

Govt Issues Letter to Telecom and Non-Telecom Companies Following the decision by the Supreme Court, the government has now issued a separate letter to the telecom companies asking them to hurry up on the process of dues assessment. As per the Supreme Court order which was passed on October 24, the telecom companies have three months from the date of the order to pay up these dues. The letter from the government says, “Any issues should be pointed out in the comprehensive representation to be submitted, but in no case, the self-assessment and payment of dues are to be delayed....

Independent TV Defaults on Payments to Antrix Corporation The message on the official website of Independent TV reads “Dear customers, our services are suspended on account of satellite signal disconnection. Same are expected to resume only after June 22nd, 2019. Inconvenience is regretted.” The Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) had ordered Independent TV to clear its dues to Antrix Corporation by June 12, and it was warned of disconnection in case it failed to do so....
