Airtel Set to Record 10 Million 4G Subscriber Additions ICICI Securities said that the Airtel subscriber base is “likely to grow” by nine million in the third quarter of the current financial year. Similarly, the firm said that Vodafone Idea, the third largest wireless operator in India is set to record a three million dip in its user base in the same period. “VIL has seen deceleration in its subs decline, and we expect its subs base to stabilise in Q4FY21,” ICICI Securities said in its report....
Bharti Airtel AGR Bill Might Go Up by Rs 2,041 Crore To recall, Bharti Airtel purchased 25 Mhz of spectrum in the 1800 Mhz band from Videocon back in 2016. The overall sum of the deal was Rs 4,428 crore. Since the airwaves were used in the 2G and 3G category by Videocon, Airtel will now have to pay the dues since it purchased the deal. On the other hand, Airtel even purchased spectrum from Aircel; In 2016 itself, Airtel bought 23 Mhz spectrum in the 2300 Mhz 4G band, but it may not have to pay any dues for the same because of the 4G spectrum usage....
A couple of days back, an order was issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) for Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) asking them to submit all the details regarding the segmented offers provided to the users within a limited number of days. The last date for the telcos as per the Trai order was December 20, 2020. Today is December 24, 2020, and the telcos haven’t submitted the details of their segmented offers yet....
According to sources, Bharti Airtel’s 5G trial network has gone live in Mumbai’s Phoenix Mall in Lower Parel. Airtel is conducting the trial in the 3500 MHz band using 5G gear from Nokia as per DoT guidelines. The trials have delivered speeds of over 1 Gbps with ultra-low latency.
