Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) just announced annual performance results along with the data for Q4 FY22. In the report, the performance of Jio Platforms Limited (JPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of RIL has also been revealed. The average revenue per user (ARPU) of Reliance Jio went up from Rs 151.6 in Q3 FY22 to Rs 167.6, a healthy 10.5% QoQ growth and 21.3% YoY growth. Positive growth in ARPU was expected to post the implementation of the prepaid tariff hike....

JioFiber Double Data Offer JioFiber’s double data offer is applicable from its basic Bronze plan that is priced at Rs 649 to the Titanium plan that is priced at Rs 8,499. Religare Broking on Tuesday said in a report that the company believes Bharti Airtel can “continue to gain market share” in its mobile services segment in the upcoming quarters. The company in its report highlighted the first quarter results of Airtel where the second largest telecom operator in India recorded an 15.4% increase in its consolidated revenues on a yearly basis. Airtel reported 14.6% year-over-year (YoY) increase in its India revenues for the period ended June 30, 2020....

A joint venture named New Digital Solutions has been formed by Russian operators VimpelCom (Beeline), Rostelecom and Megafon with the goal of building 5G networks together. The Russian operators have agreed to own equal stakes in the joint venture, which is aimed to collaboratively develop radio frequencies for establishing and operating 5G mobile networks. The New Digital Solutions will track testing for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and research possibilities of using certain spectrum bands to construct 5G networks....

Safaricom is known as Kenya’s biggest telco. It has recently announced that it will begin trials for the 5G internet and the technology used will be acquired from Huawei and Nokia. According to a report by 5gradar, it was announced on Friday that four cities were given priority for the trials namely Nairobi, Kisumu, Kissi and Kakamega. The trials however will eventually be expanded to 150 sites, including in 9 urban areas in an estimated period of about 12 months....
