Samsung India on Thursday announced that its entire range of Galaxy Smartwatches will now be Made in India. The company announced the development with the launch of its Galaxy Watch Active2 4G Aluminium Edition in the country. The Galaxy Watch Active2 4G Aluminium Edition will also be the company’s first smartwatch to be made in India. The company said that it offers the “widest range of 4G smartwatches in India....

Older smartwatches also get all the newer watch faces that are on the Galaxy Watch Active. Among the health features are a ‘Daily Activities’ screen, ‘Workout’ and a new tracker for outdoor swimming. With the update, Samsung has also improved heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking. The updated interface features new advanced settings, including enabling and disabling Touch wake-up, controlling the frequency and timing of Daily briefing updates.

The GMPCS authorisation under the Unified licence has so far been awarded to OneWeb India Communications and Jio Satellite Communications. Two additional entities have applied for the right to set up gateways, increasing the level of competition in the satellite communication market.
