New IUC Charges Also to Decrease Outgoing Calls from Reliance Jio Ind-Ra has noted that for the rival telecom operators, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, these telcos might see reduced incoming call traffic which means that they might see a decline in their income from the IUC payouts which was 3% of the total revenue for Bharti Airtel and 10% of the total revenue for Vodafone Idea. Also, with the removal of the pricing arbitrage, Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel might continue to lose subscribers to Reliance Jio....

Reliance Jio seems to have stopped offered unlimited JioTunes subscription via its music app JioSaavn. To recall, the Mukesh Ambani-led telco used to provide JioTunes subscription at no extra cost to the subscribers as they are already paying an annual fee of Rs 99 for JioPrime. As per the latest update, Reliance Jio customers are being asked to pay Rs 99 for unlimited song changes per month on JioSaavn app....

Bharti Airtel RMS Standing at 30% In the quarter ending June, Reliance Jio registered a 15 basis points (bps) sequential growth, following which it reached the RMS of 31.7%. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel registered 277 bps on-quarter for a 30% RMS. To recall, Airtel had witnessed a decline in the last quarter because of one-time bad debt write-offs which were related to interconnect usage charges from operators, the new Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) report highlights....

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has just issued a fresh public advisory on the use of signal boosters/repeaters and wireless jammers. The telecom department said that the use of wireless jammer or signal jammer, GPS blocker or other signal jamming devices is illegal in India except specifically permitted by the Government of India (GoI).
