Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A MIUI 11 Update Rollout Started Xiaomi just launched the Mi Note 10 in Europe and the phone comes with MIUI 11 out of the box. That’s not all. The Chinese company continues to seed MIUI 11 stable update to the smartphones released in 2018 and 2017. The Redmi 6A and the Redmi 6 smartphone users are now reporting the MIUI 11 update arrival, weighing 511MB and 508MB in size. The update adds October 2019 security patches to both the phones. The Redmi 6’s MIUI 11 update carries the build number- MIUI 11.0.1.0.PCGMIXM and the Redmi 6A carries MIUI 11.0.4.0.PCBMIXM. That said, we checked for the MIUI 11 update on Redmi 6A, but the update did not reach our smartphone still. Clearly, Xiaomi is rolling out the update to both the phones in a staged manner. All the MIUI 11 features like dynamic wallpaper, video wallpaper, dark mode and so on are being added to both the smartphones. Next up, Xiaomi will roll out the update to Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi Y2, Redmi 5A, Redmi 5, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Mi Mix 2 and Mi Max 2 smartphones by November 12. The second phase of MIUI 11 rollout began on November 4 and the first phone to get the update was the Redmi K20 Pro. Redmi Note 8 Series Last in the Line to Receive MIUI 11 Stable Update In other news, Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones in India last month. However, both the new phones from Xiaomi will get the MIUI 11 stable update only in the third and fourth phases respectively. The third phase of MIUI 11 rollout will begin in the third week of November and the Redmi Note 8 is part of that list alongside other phones like Redmi Note 6 Pro, Redmi 7A, Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A. The Redmi 7A, Redmi 8A and the Redmi 8 were released just a few weeks ago, so all the Xiaomi phones launched recently are yet to receive the MIUI 11 update. The Redmi Note 8 Pro, which is the best smartphone under Rs 15,000, will get the update only at the end of December. The reason behind the delay could be the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. The Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A are also powered by MediaTek chipsets, but they were released at the end of 2018, which allowed Xiaomi to release the MIUI 11 update to them faster.
