OxygenOS 10.0 for OnePlus 6 Series: What’s New? There are a lot of new features added by OnePlus to both the smartphones. Firstly, the overall system has been upgraded to Android along with OxygenOS’ new UI design. As you might be aware of by now, Google released enhanced location permissions for privacy with Android 10 and the same has been implemented by OnePlus as well. Android 10’s revamped gestural navigation also makes into the OnePlus 6 and 6T smartphones. Older OnePlus phones like the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro retained OxygenOS gestures, but the newly launched OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro devices only offer gestural navigation of Android 10. OnePlus also confirmed that a new customisation feature had been added in Settings app allowing users to choose icon shapes, font and so on. There are also general bug fixes and improvements to enhance the overall user experience. OnePlus also added Game Space to the OnePlus 6 and 6T smartphones with the OxygenOS 10.0 update. Game Space feature brings all the favourite games in one place for easier access and better gaming experience. Furthermore, the update also brings Contextual Display which shows intelligent info based on specific times, locations and events for Ambient Display. Lastly, OnePlus Messages app now has the ability to block spam by keywords for Message. The Chinese company also says the Hide Notch (display cutout) option is currently not available on this version. For the unaware, the OnePlus 6 features a traditional notch whereas the OnePlus 6T has the teardrop notch on top of the display that houses the selfie camera. OxygenOS 10.0 for OnePlus 6 Series: When Will You Receive it? Similar to every other update rollout from the house of OnePlus, the OxygenOS 10.0 for OnePlus 6 series is also a staged one. The OTA update will reach only a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days. The reason behind the staged rollout is the company makes sure there are no critical bugs. It will take feedback from the users who received the update in the first batch. “Using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout Is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices,” says OnePlus. A lot of OnePlus smartphone users connect to Germany server through a VPN app to receive the OTA update right away. But OnePlus says the trick may not work. Alternatively, users can download the Oxygen Update app from Google Play Store to check for the OxygenOS 10.0 update for OnePlus 6 and 6T smartphones.
